Aries Season 2024: Who We Are vs. Who We Portray

Aries, the first  sign of the zodiac, begins his season approximately March 20th and ends April 19th, dependent on location and time zone. Aries is the pioneer and visionary of the zodiac, but he also represents our persona: the mask we wear and the role we play in society, as marked as the traditional 1st house ruler.  The persona is the part of us that protects us and engages with the outside world.

This means that not only will he focus on our Mars and Aries placements, but he will also highlight our Rising Sign and 1st house placements. There is friction between who we want to be vs where we fit in with the collective and the roles we have been forced or agreed to play.

We can expect to see themes around:

• who we portray ourselves to be vs. who we are
• how we interact with others vs. how the world interacts with us
• our offense, defense and self-protection
• our trauma response and triggers
• what scares us vs. what motivates us
• hidden or repressed anger and fear
• childhood patterning that kept us safe.

Marking the beginning of this season, we have Mars in the tail-end of Aquarius, bringing us alignment with authenticity in our balancing act to strive towards something better while maintaining a sense of homeostasis. We will see that being open to receive is equally as important as taking aligned action. This Aries season, we will have new truths come to the forefront about our motivation and personal truths, which includes integrity and what we stand for. 

We are actively releasing blocks deep within the body, down to a cellular level. This includes the programming that we received from ancestral and familial bonds that no longer serve us, with the purpose of revealing a new sense of self and identity. There is friction between what we want to work towards vs our family's vision for us. We are actively being asked to let the pressure to satisfy them go. Reconnect deeply into your sense of self and inner power, you are the one that holds the reigns to your own life. You do not owe anyone anything, and your purpose is not to sacrifice yourself for family.

Right now, Saturn is closely tied with Venus and is marking a significant purge. Through this purge, your own personal definition of love and courtship will be purified, showing you what you value and long for on a personal level, rather than through the lens of collective expectation.  We are working towards receiving what brings us joy, through spirituality, connection, and our inner child. We will be reaching new heights that will inspire us to be open to love again (ourselves and others) while discovering what it is like to have the enthusiasm of child-like wonder.

Karmic patterns, limitations, and structures related to the feminine aspects of self and others are likely to surface so they may be unwound and released. It is likely that many of these are inherited energies and themes, rather than something that truly belongs to us. This includes

• deep feelings hidden within the subconscious
• empathy, emotional connectedness and awareness
• unconditional love, vulnerability, and attachment
• the ability to receive, trust, and be open
• connection to women, femininity, and the divine feminine within (not gender specific)
• spiritual wounds, connecting and receiving from your spiritual power
• childhood experiences related to all of the above

It will be your choice to decide what you would like to keep and what you would like to surrender. Just know that if it is being shown to you and it is triggering or disempowering in nature, you are likely being urged to release it.

We are bringing up the hidden self slowly but deeply, encouraging confidence and inspiration. Our inner worlds will be focused on what brings us joy, happiness, and passion while our public outer selves will protect and fight for it. We are learning to follow what gives us our inner spark and fills our cup. Developing our self-confidence so we can begin to shine and make ourselves known.

We are being coaxed to be active participants in our healing, in particular, the way we communicate with our mind, body and soul, and how we communicate with others. Any anger or fear will make itself known so we can see it for what it is and start to see the bigger picture. We will be learning how to let the right bridges burn and which ones need to be repaired, how to let things go and move forward, and how to focus on taking care of you while nurturing important relationships. We will see what patterns we have related to impulsivity, selfishness, and fear, highlighting where we can develop patience and trust for better outcomes, meet our own needs while meeting the needs of others, and where we need to release fear that keeps us from taking action or has us running for the hills. In tandem, we will also be shown where we are too passive, struggle to make decisions, are too accommodating, and lack an inner warrior.  Balance is key.

The essence of this Aries season is to encourage a deep exploration between self-perception and societal roles, showing themes of authenticity vs. conformity, interaction dynamics, defense mechanisms, and confronting the influences that no longer serve us. We are further aligning with out personal truth, releasing patterns and pressures that we carry. We are purifying our own concepts of love, paving the way for self-discovery and reconnecting to our inner joy, while releasing karmic patterns attached to our feminine aspects to help us learn to receive. We are being supported through developing our sense of self, inner confidence, and our purpose through confronting our fears, patterns, and communication, while being encouraged towards harmonious, empowered relationships.
